Welcome to Pimp My Batmobile! This website was started in 2008 to offer tips, tricks, info and resources for collecting, customizing and modeling the 1966 Batmobile. I’ve been collecting Batman and Batmobiles for over 40 years. (really) I’ve been modeling and customizing them for almost as long (also really). In 2008 Mattel released the first commercially licensed 1966 Batmobile replica/toy in almost 26 years. This has launched a sea change in Batmobile collecting and modeling. Licensed Batmobiles from other vendors are being released every year. The floodgates as they say, are now open.

The main mission of PMB! is sharing information. We are all driven by a similar goal – we all love the 1966 Batmobile. And many of us have been striving for decades to model (or acquire)  the most realistic replicas we can find. Some of us are more detail-obsessed than others.  Please feel free to contribute by commenting on the posts or visiting us on our Facebook page.  I also invite posts and tips by guest authors. Send me your post in an email and it may get published. If you would like to be a regular contributor – please let me know.

If you’re looking for even more information about Batman toys and collectibles – please visit sister site: BatStuff.com  And if you’re interested in seeing more galleries and techniques of people that create custom toys, models and other superhero crafts – please visit our original custom toys site ScootersCustomWorks.com

PMB! has one of the biggest and most voracious niche followings in the model-building or toy-collecting online communities. In 2012, we launched PMB! “2.0″, giving a facelift to our content and allowing us to place a few advertising options on the site. We’re keeping the sponsorship to a minimum for now, but if you’re interested in placing an ad and need our rates, contact us here.

I want to give a shout-out to Scott Sebring & Lee Kirkham of the 1966 Batman Website and Eric Selzer of the 1966 Batmobile Website. These two sites have been the best 1966 bat-resources for many years. Their larger focuses have allowed PMB! to narrow our topics down to the nitty-gritty of Batmobile modeling & collecting.

Thanks go out to all the customers who’ve supported this site and our hobby over the years with their hard-earned cash. We don’t sell the quantity of stuff we used to, but we still maintain an exclusive products section that features the work of craftspeople from all over the world. It’s a private section that you must register for our list to be allowed access to.

Special thanks to Doug, Andy, Tim, Steve,  Alex, Leonard, Kevin, Joe Kelly whose support and contributions have been integral.

Now, let’s get to work.
