D-Scopes Are In!
PMB! and Insane Detailing have waded through a lot of setbacks on this one. Our Asian manufacturer that made the bases for us held up our masters and created delays for months, for which we apologize. The good news is that they’re finally done and shipping next week, in time for uh…the holiday season, if not actual Christmas day.
The bad news is that we have reevaluated what it has taken to make these units and the price is going up. Everybody that already ordered one – good going. Anyone else – sorry but they are just too time intensive to warrant our earlier $49 pricing. I have to crow about these a little, which is okay since I didn’t make them. I may have helped with the design stage but the real work is done by Insane Detailing’s Doug Switz. But if you’re serious about your Batmobile detailing – these are just must have pieces of amazing craftsmanship. I know they’re pricey but they’re absolutely worth it.

Hot Wheels 1/43 Spotted?
A bunch of these have been seen on the bay and elsewhere recently being offered from China. Could it be some early factory sneaks? Looks pretty good. Not perfect, and certainly not “elite” but a bit better than the 1:50 for sure. Looks like a small version of the 1:18 complete with all its errors. And hey – still missing the upper bat-ray stripes! So the questions are – is this really a production Mattel 1/43? Or another odd Asian resin knock-off like the GADM/Corgi hybrid that’s been out for a while? I have one coming in shortly so I’ll let you know when I get it.

The call of the Siren…
Nope. Not Joan Collins this time. Just got in a very limited, exclusive run of the fantastic new all-aluminum, CAD-machined Sirens/Beacons for the 1:18 Hot Wheels Batmobile straight form Australia. After a first run was discarded for being a bit undersized, Mit and his team in Oz have produced a masterpiece. We now have three beacons for you to choose form in the Products section:
- Solid resin economy version
- 3-piece hollowed resin cage and clear red lens insert version that you assemble and paint silver (shown below, right)
- Completed ALUMINUM and clear red lens unit (shown below, left)
These are the best, most accurate 1st season 1966 Batmobile sirens I’ve ever seen and having them in metal is a bonus. Easily lit if desired.
