PostHeaderIcon Look, Batman has legs!

Introducing the new Gen 2 Crimefighter Figure Sets. If you have these on order, the unfinished ones are in and starting to ship now. We just got word that the painted/finished ones are in the U.S. at customs right now, due here any day. If you have them on order – look for them later this week. We just need to get them in, packed and out. If you haven’t ordered them – We expect to be sold out before Christmas so plan accordingly.

Pictured is our prototype set. They’re a little beat up from traveling to Tiki Con and we made a couple little tweaks to the final ones based on a few comments people made at Tiki. I know everyone says this but honestly – pictures don’t do these justice.  They are really, really cool in person. See our upcoming youtube commercial to see them in video.

Info on the figures:

  • Produced in Asia by a professional toy design company
  • Multiple articulation points at wrists & shoulders (or can be glued)
  • Unfinished sets – No clean-up needed, and they are pre-assembled
  • Pressure pot cast in clean lightweight urethane
  • Sidekick’s hand can be made to hold the PMB! Batphone handset.

How are those for improvements?

So, does he FIT? Yes! With a few disclaimers. The Caped Crusader will not simply slide in behind the wheel, now that he has legs. Sorry. Blame Hot Wheels and their interesting take on the interior space. If you don’t do anything to the wheel – yes, you can squeeze him in there, but it will be a tight fit and he won’t be coming in and out much. But wait – you have options

Here’s the skinny on the fit.  The physics of the thing are such that Hot Wheels simply didn’t give us enough space to achieve natural looking, seated figures that would fit under that steering wheel in its current configuration without a bit of a squeeze. Sorry. Ain’t gonna happen. Believe me we tried. The figures just didn’t end up looking right.

BUT There are a few workarounds to this problem going from the very, very easy to the more involved. There are some easily achievable quick-modifications that will allow much more leeway to the fit. Some involve the wheel, some involve the figures, some involve the seats.

Read about those options HERE (you can also access this page from the main right-hand sidebar under “Pages”)

If “Batman has legs”, then “whose got short shorts”?

It’s nice they added legs, but I really think PMB’s original figure set looks much more like Adam and Burt, the detail and paintwork were better and they look less “toy-like”. This second set just doesn’t look as good IMHO (I am biased… I have a 1st-Gen set gracing my Elite), and Burt looks bigger then Adam…. something anyone knows was NOT the case in real life! LOL

    Hey BATSARGE619,

How did you get PMB’s original figure set to fit into your Elte without breaking them? If you could please send me a response to rsalinas91@gmail.com

    Thanks!

Guys, I have to tell you in all seriousness, that everyone who has seen these IN PERSON has been blown away by them. The flesh tones, the sizing and the detail work are really nice up close. Robin is smaller than Batman (this is a bad photo) and they are the right scale for the car. I like both our sets for different reasons but these are very cool

Also – I’ve never had an issue fitting the Gen 1 figures into any of the cars, but the best place to ask questions about fit etc. is on the Message Board. I guarantee that if you post your question about figures there that it will get a speedy answer and people there can help you out in detail.

Like he said, there really is no issue fitting the first-gens into the car. I didn’t have to do any modifications, just some easy mauevering of Adam under the wheel. Burt is just “drop right in”.

I DO like the multi-point articulation on the second-gens.. makes for multiple pose possibilities. Sorry Tim, wasn’t trying to turn anyone off to the second-gens… and you’re absolutely right…not fair of me to judge them on that photo alone. It’s just that I LOVE my first-gens so much!

I just received my painted 2nd gen. 1/18th figs. “Holy $%!#balls, Batman!!” I love ‘em! Hope I can pull off one of the fixes to seat Adam in there–can’t wait for the PDF.
