Fingers Crossed, Boys.
1/25 Snap kit before the end of this year? Wow. I really hope so. Actually, I’ll be thrilled and amazed, frankly if either the snap or the glue kits get released at all. But the mockups look excellent so let’s keep a happy thought. Diecast was great. But a 1/25 plastic, accurate model kit answers a lifelong quest for me. PLUS, I’ve got dozens of accurate parts for this scale including…uh, those of a figural nature. Who wants to start the nitpicking with me early? You knew it would be coming, right? Okay – from the looks of the photo, there is a break point all along the top edge of the tail-fins. That’s a stupid place to put a transition part as it’s going to need to be puttied and smoothed. I know it”s a KIT and all, but I’d be happy with a one-piece main body like every resin garage version of the car featured all during the 90′s as opposed to taking cues from the original Revell Futura kit which is a nightmare to fit together. Ah well, we wouldn’t want it too easy would we? Or would we…

what is the total lenghth on this model ?
This one will end a lifelong quest for me as well. 1/25th was always the preferred scale in all my models but each and every resin kit left me cold in one way or another. As long as it’s accurate I don’t care if it’s a 20 piece body!lol. I see a too small beacon and the rear canopy has too much forward cant.
Look closer at the lower beltline…this car goes together EXACTLY like the mattell. Not only are the wings split along the edge but you can see where the front, rear and side skirts all attach just below the beltline.
@Futurabat: It was suggested elsewhere by someone claiming to be on the inside that they (R2) tooled up from the Hot Wheels scanned body. It’s done pretty often in the toy industry. I just assumed that they’d be modifying the assembly more than it appears they have. I’m with you on the beacon. Happily, I have that area covered, depending upon how accurate their 1/25 scaling is. You’re on your own on the canopy! I don’t mess with clear castings!
@Cint: The model hasn’t been released yet so there’s no way to know. But if it is TRUE 1/25 scale, the real Batmobile is 225″ long (give or take a few for the exhaust) so the model SHOULD be almost exactly 9″ long.
