1:18 Hot Wheels 1966 Batmobile Elite & Super Elite News

Wednesday 9 April 2008

According to our diecast vendor REPLICARZ, news straight from China this morning:

“Standard Batmobile resumes production in July
Elite will be here in a month, the first 100 samples have been run and approved.
Super Elite July”

So it sounds like after all the standard retail units are gone from Toys R Us, we’ll get a bit of a drought and then they’ll be back in the summer.

Looks like Kevin has given himself a bit of free advertising. When you clink on his email address in “Recent Comments”, it takes you right to his NASCAR store page.

Scott, is this OK with you?

    Totally inappropriate video posting…..

Scot, I hope you let this post say up here in this thread, because I would like the maximum numbers of people read it.

I know it’s not merchandise related, but I just came from the “bat-blog.com” website. I usually check it everyday, as I do this site and a few others.

Today’s newest “addition” to the site is a video titled
“Video: Batman Does a Bong Hit!”. He is showing of a guy in a Batman mask doing hits off a bong he got off YouTube. Maybe I’m getting old and out-of-touch-with-reality, but I think this is TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE for a site that is supposed show some respect for a comic book hero, but even more importantly the message it will send to any of our kids who might also catch a glimpse of it.

I left my a very opinionated comment, but since he has to approve it before it appears in his comment section (unlike most of the other fan supported websites with comment sections), I hope that any of you other Bat-fans who think this is TOTALLY WRONG would let him know as well!!!!

Doug - thanks for being dilligent. That link that Kevin has set up for his username is okay. I approved that when he joined up and first approached me about it. His casework is very nice by the way. Anyone else that makes something and wants to either partner up here or link to it - just give me a shout. Same thing with external links - if anybody wants to exchange site links - let me know.

I completely agree with you about that video. Call me old fashioned too but I don’t need my seven year old kid seeing that. No more bat-blog for us.

    The video is stupid.
    It’s not relative to my
    affection for the Bat.

    The Boat is cool.
    No trailer?!

Found an Elite 1/18 Batmobile today. Quite a few cosmetic differences from the standard car, and looks much better than the first one!!

  12. My website has Nascar Rc car videos but I did NOT post any here, this website asked for a Home page and I did so. Sorry… however as a Bat-contributor and fan forever of the 1966 Batmobile I hope this thread stays up.

UPDATE…6 1-18th scale Batmobile case is now being made. HW 3 Version 1-18th scale Batmobile Case is ready. I do not know anyone at the San Diego Comic Con and WOULD LOVE to display it. Would love to pay someone for the rental space as I know it cannot be cheap. thanks and sorry everyone for the video (dont know where or who did it) but my nascar website is all about special versions of 1-6th nascar rc cars.

Hi Doug, I found it up here in Canada. As for some of the differences : the radar is photo-etched, fire extinguisher is a separate piece, dash has chrome accents, photo-etch mesh grilles front and rear, amber siren and bat signals, red piping on seats with cloth red seat belts, rear axle is still solid piece though, kinda toy like, white edging around bat logos on wheels, photo-etch door handles, hood and trunk open with engine and crime computer respectively. However, the bottom of the car is kinda blobby looking. They painted it, but for an elite, it’s kinda toy-like. All in all though, a much nicer car.

    Mike,

Sorry to be such a pest, but did you find it in a store, or did you have it ordered from someone?

I found it in a storefront window in a display. I was actually going there intending on buying something else. I first thought it was the basic car until I saw the hood and trunk opened.
