About This Website

Welcome to Pimp My Batmobile! I started this page to offer tips, tricks, info and resources for collecting, upgrading, customizing and modeling Batmobiles. I’ve been collecting batman and batmobiles for 42 years. (really) I’ve been modeling and customizing them for almost as long. This year Mattel released the first commercially available 1966 Batmobile replica/toy in almost 26 years. This has been a boon to collectors and fans. And the model’s long list of major flaws and shortcomings has been a boon to modelers and customizers. :) But we’re happy to have it and at a price that we can all afford to crack a few open and get busy.

I founded the site with some like-minded enthusiasts to offer some hard to find accessories to make your batmobile as nice as you want it to be. Your purchases help fund this site, and to bring new and better bat-products to market. But the main driving force behind this site is not commerce, but camaraderie. We are all driven by a similar goal - we all love the 1966 batmobile. And many of us have been striving for decades to model (or acquire)  the most realistic replicas we can find. Some of us are more small-stuff obsessed than others. :)

So that’s why we’re here. I chose a blog format rather than a message board, because we’ve already got enough bat-related message boards to go around. Please feel free to contribute by commenting on the posts. I also invite posts and tips by guest authors. Send me your post in an email and it may get published. If you would like to be a regular contributor - please let me know. Also - if you make or sell any related products and would like to be a featured vendor - email me.

I want to give a well-deserved shout-out to Scott Sebring & Lee Kirkham of the 1966 Batman Website and Eric Selzer of the 1966 Batmobile Website. These two sites have been the best 1966 bat-resources for years and have certainly inspired me to launch this site and their larger focusses have allowed us to narrow our topics waaaay down to the detailed nitty gritty of batmobile modeling. Also thanks go out to Andy Garringer, Tim Meyer, Steve Wright whose support and contributions have been integral.

Now, let’s get to work.
